Growing From 1 Auto Shop to 3, and Through a Sale

Lorentz Automotive and Tinkerz Automotive, North Texas

Lorentz Automotive started with us as a single shop in Lewisville, TX. As it expanded to Denton and Ponder, we supported the network, servers, workstations, phones, and people at each site. When Denton was sold in 2025, we helped with the separation and kept supporting both businesses.

Since at least 2020

A long-term partnership covering day-to-day support and major projects

2 businesses, 1 IT partner

When Denton was sold in 2025, we helped separate it and kept both owners as clients

The Challenge

IT that could keep up with a growing shop

When the phones or shop software go down, an auto repair shop feels it right away: customers wait, and work stalls. As Lorentz Automotive added locations, each new shop needed to be up and running quickly, with a setup its staff could rely on, even at a rural site where internet options were limited.

What We Support

One partner for the whole shop

Networks

Managed firewalls with LTE internet failover, PoE switching, and business WiFi, so a shop can keep working if its main connection drops.

Servers

Server hardware and support for the systems that shop staff rely on throughout the day.

Workstations

New PC setup, monitoring, patching, and antivirus for front-counter and shop computers.

Phones

Cloud-hosted VoIP phone systems and desk phones, set up and managed for each location.

Everyday support

One team to call for help at any location, on-site or remote.

The Timeline

How the partnership grew

Lewisville

Our work with Lorentz Automotive began at its original Lewisville shop, with managed workstations, network, backup, and day-to-day support.

Late 2023: Denton

We built the Denton network from scratch, including the rack, firewall with LTE failover, PoE switches, 5 WiFi access points, and cabling, then added phones and a server in early 2024.

Early 2024: Ponder

At a rural site with few internet options, we researched the available carriers, then installed the network, phones, and first workstation.

2025: Denton is sold

When the Denton location was sold, we helped separate it from the Lorentz group, including handing off its call recordings, and continued supporting the shop under its new owner as Tinkerz Automotive.

Today: Still supporting both

We continue to support Lorentz Automotive in Lewisville and Ponder, and Tinkerz Automotive in Denton, where we also built the new website.

When It Got Hard

A week of real problems in Lewisville

In 2026, the Lewisville shop began losing its internet connection repeatedly. We went on-site, ruled out the cabling and the shop's own equipment, met the carrier's technician, and escalated the issue with the provider until they acknowledged a problem on their side, while also gathering quotes from other providers. During the same stretch, a power failure took the server down. We arrived that morning, repaired the boot problem, and got the shop's software back online for staff.

The Results

Growth, change, and continuity

  • 01 A consistent IT standard across all three shops as the business grew
  • 02 One partner for networks, servers, workstations, phones, and support
  • 03 A supported transition when the Denton location changed hands
  • 04 Two independent businesses that each chose to keep working with us

“An honest operation that you know will come through anytime you are in need.”
